Well we’re just about a month away from the first day of Spring (March 20th). Who would know it looking out the windows?
At home the three kids would be enjoying the snow…but Katherine (13) has the flu, Tommy (10) twisted his right ankle playing basketball (yes, he did twist his left ankle skiing, but that was 2 weeks ago), and Johnny (9) finds it more comfortable to ski and race on his iPad than actually going outside and doing it. That leaves me outside shoveling all by my lonesome. Even Hazel and Lucky, our dogs, just sit and watch me from the window; even though they have a dog door. At least I get some quiet time.
So that being said, there really is not much new with the family. Sorry it’s sort of short this week.

At least a third of a pound of fresh ground sirloin char grilled to your specification upon an open flame and smothered with Monterey Jack and cheddar cheeses, as well as caramelized onions. Sandwiched between two slices of toasted rye bread.

At least a half-pound of Atlantic salmon basted with our Tuscaloosa style barbecue sauce and char grilled over an open flame. Accompanied by sides of homemade rice pilaf and fresh vegetables that are so fresh; I don’t even know what they are as I type this. P.S. Two plump chicken breasts sliced into bite size medallions. Deglazed with a splash of dry white wine before expanding with chicken broth. Accented with a splash of marinara, a shake of Parmesan, a pinch of basil and a pat of whole butter.
